First Harvest

About the organization

Delicious and nutritious need not pertain to two different products! By using the richness of the flavors of real ingredients, First Harvest churns food products that are not only delectable but also healthy at the same time!

Originating from Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, First Harvest directly works with community partners in reviving well-loved traditional recipes. Proudly-Filipino, this budding social enterprise eyes to establish scalable food tolling facilities in at least 10 farms in the country. Their current crowd-favorite products include their smooth Peanut Spread and the quirky Peanut Crunch.

What makes it a social enterprise?

The production of the First Harvest food products is handled by mothers from the Gawad Kalinga village in Angat Bulacan. Food production, product development and retail sales are all domains that help provide employment to the socially disadvantaged.

They also contribute to the development of nearby farming communities by only buying locally sourced products from local farms and markets. By producing high quality products that will compete with imported brands, they want to improve food security and help increase food production directly in the Philippines.

First Harvest also reinvests some of their profits into community development. They have a college scholarship program that helps empower the local youth to become the future business leaders and company managers of tomorrow.
