About the organization
The Foundation for a Sustainable Society (FSSI) is a social investment organization committed to support social enterprises. FSSI is a non-profit organization managed by 20-member networks of development organizations. It was borne out of a debt for development swap initiative with the Swiss Government. FSSI was tasked as a development facility for sustainable production.
Since 1995, we have developed social enterprises with triple bottom lines in marginalized communities that are owned, managed and operated by the poor, economically sound and environmentally-friendly. It is a sustainable resource institution committed to social investments that facilitate the entry and participation of poor Filipino communities for the development of just, local economies.

What makes it a social enterprise?
FSSI is not a social enterprise itself but it contributes directly to the development of other social enterprises. It has a social enterprise fund that can invest in social enterprises, provides trainings and also does advocacy to the government on their behalf.
