Mayown Handmade is a social enterprise dedicated to providing women in the Pandacan, Manila area with a living wage and social benefits empowering them by teaching the complexities of making handmade crocheted toys.

What makes it a social enterprise?
Human trafficking is huge in the Philippines.
To prevent this, families need money for their kids to go to school, that way their children do not end up in these horrible situations. Mayown works with Visayan Forum, an organization that prevents human trafficking and modern slavery in different communities.
For every handmade crocheted toys the moms make and sell, they are provided with a sustainable wage allowing them to pay for their kids education and provide them with a healthy meal 3 times a day.
