Messy Bessy
About the organization
Messy Bessy is a manufacturer and wholesaler of natural, chemical-free household and personal care cleaners made by at-risk youths in Philippines that receive skills, education and mentorship to help their rehabilitation into society. They also have their own line of personal care products for Men (Messy Man) and natural baby care products (Messy Baby)
Founded by Kristine Reyes-Lopez, this social enterprise doesn't just want consumers to choose their brand because of the green aspect and their social impact. They work closely with chemists to ensure that their product, even without chemicals, is as effective for cleaning than the other brands on the market.
Their branding message is simple: "We clean. We green. We educate."

What makes it a social enterprise?
Messy Bessy is the primary social enterprise under Project H.OU.S.E. (Helping Ourselves through Sustainable Enterprises), an organization dedicated to providing at-risk (formerly abused, trafficked, impoverished) young adults with work training, value formation classes and self-sustained education (high school and/or college diploma) / academic review classes.
These young adults are directly involved in the manufacturing, sales, and delivery of Messy Bessy products, and Project H.OU.S.E. work with them to send themselves to school. Project H.OU.S.E. aims to educate, empower, and employ these young adults. Their goal is not to make them long time employees of Messy Bessy, but instead, that they find a job in a different company with the skills they acquired at Messy Bessy and the education they have received in parallel.
Messy Bessy is firmly committed to the environment by making all their products using all natural ingredients that are biodegradable and nontoxic.
